April 12: Easter Sunday - Can you believe it?

Happy Easter everyone! Welcome to St Mark’s Home Church (genuinely) all ages Easter service, wherever you are in the world. Amidst all the world’s turmoil we hope this service bring a smile to your face, (and maybe a tear) as we celebrate resurrection hope.

As you scroll down you can follow the form of the service at your own pace with space for interaction, Bible readings, song and prayer as you feel led.

Victory!

This has been presented by St Mark’s musicians. Though we can’t be in a room together it really feels like we are :). Thanks so much to everyone who contributed, and a special thanks to Andrew Hawkey for editing it all together.

Dramatic bible reading

John 20: 1-31

Parents, you might like to ask your kids:

  • What stood out to you in this reading?

  • What was your favourite part?

  • And how good is Stuart!

Greetings from our older people

We really care and miss some of the older members of our community. We’re so thankful for the pastoral care team who are doing such a good job at helping people keep connected. If you or your family would like to adopt a grandparent during COVID please get in touch with Anita Veltmeyer (there are a few processes to go through but we’d love to connect you).

Reading: John 20:24-31

Jesus Appears to Thomas

24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

The Purpose of John’s Gospel

30 Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. 31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
