Song: So, be still…

Here are the lyrics for those who would like to follow along

Jesus, even when the storms rage
and the earth shakes, and trouble surrounds us
Jesus, even when the winds swell
and the waves rise, you will remain

Around us nations bewildered
thrown by the waves, and swept by the seas
You speak and kingdoms are silenced
Storms are stilled and wars they cease

And you say:
“So, be still and know that I am God.
So, be still and know that I am God.
I’ll be known by the nations, true adoration
Will flow from the people
So, be still and know that I am God.”

Jesus, even when my heart fails
and my strength fades, you are still with me
Jesus, even on the worst days,
in my mis-takes, your love remains

You came to rescue the world
and lift us out from the mess that we’ve made it
Your mercy flows from the wounds when you entered the storm,
When you died there for me

And we sing:
“Jesus you are our refuge and our strength
Jesus, you are our refuge and our strength
Though the earth gives way and the mountains fall to the heart of the sea
Jesus, you are our refuge and our strength

We will sing for the one who moves among us, the one who loves us
We will sing for one who can awaken the world

In your city there flows a river, or pure water, of pure joy
The tree of life grows beside, its leaves for the healing of the nations
And how we long for the river of pure water, of pure joy
to flow like streams from within us, by your Spirit, to your world

And you say:
“So, be still and know that I am God
So, be still and know that I am God
I am hope of the nations, light of the world,
With grace for the people
So, be still and know that I am God.”

Prayer

We invite you to take some time to pray with your household, in silence, or journal your own prayers, using the prompts above.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.

Community

Thank you to those who have been praying for us this week as we work on our COVID Safe Plan. We have had a week full of meetings – each one getting us a step closer to being able to meet together again.

Key points:

  • Small groups can meet in homes with up to 10 guests.

  • On Monday the 15th the supper room and main foyer are also available for small groups. Each gathering will require a COVID Safe Coordinator.

  • We are working on preparing the church to be open for services. As soon as we have a service date we will let you know! :)

We will be continuing to send updates via email, and will have all key information on this new page on our website.

Thanks!

We leave you with words from 1 Peter 5: 8-11…

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

See you next week!
