May 17: The God who reveals mysteries?

Welcome to St Mark’s Home Church, wherever you are in the world! As you scroll down you can follow the form of the service at your own pace with space for interaction, Bible readings, song and prayer as you feel led.

If you’re doing this with your family, you can head over here to access additional content for kid’s church today.

Take a moment to pray…

Pause for a moment to pray by yourself, with your family, or whoever you’re with as you prepare your heart to meet with Jesus.

Reading: Daniel 2:1-23

If you want to read the whole story, grab your bible and you can read to the end of the chapter. (Kim picks up the story along the way!)

Worship

Feel free to sing your own songs, or you can find more songs on our slowly growing worship playlist.

Message

Okay… buckle up! This is a big story and very relevant for our times.

  • What did you sense God saying to you today?

  • Is there anything you need to do to respond?

Download this PDF for a full bible study on this passage.

Prayers

We invite you to take some time to pray with your household, in silence, or journal your own prayers. We also invite you to pray for our Parish Council as they meet this coming Thursday.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.

Community

We are halfway through our 10 day trials inspired by the book of Daniel! Send us a photo or video update of your progress to homechurch@laurenipsum.co.

Thanks!

We leave you with words from Phillippians 2:5-11

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death—
        even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

See you next week :)
